 One Lawmaker’s Sneaky Attempt To Keep Marriage Equality Out Of Texas - Unbelievable. A Texas state lawmaker is proposing legislation which would make it illegal for clerks to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples . . . even if marriage equality became legal in Texas. Religious Right Poised for Greater Power in 2015 - As much as we like to pretend that anti-gay groups are on their way out, the reality is that they have too much money and hold too much influence to fall even if their rhetoric is homophobic and archaic. They simply change the rhetoric. Folks, it's high time that we all get serious about this situation. Defeating these groups and securing our equality is going to entail more than profanity, useless public displays of anger (i.e. glitterbombing), and holding on to past actions as hallmarks of success.
